


His reasoning was that the more complex the design, the longer it took to get the product on the street. Jagger wanted something that was simple and uncomplicated. Mick Jagger had been in contact with Warhol via letter and basically outlined his vision for the project.

It was actually in early 1969 when Andy Warhol agreed to provide artwork for an upcoming album by the group. It hit the market in April of 1971 but the album cover art dates a little before that.
